I have been in the psychology field for over 25 years and practicing as a licensed psychologist since 1998. I've dabbled in yoga since I was a child and started on my spiritual path at age 27, but it wasn't until 2009 that my yoga practice deepened and yoga became my way of life! On my 46th birthday I went to Bhaktifest to celebrate. I met Kia Miller and found out that she was leading a training in Rishikesh, India. I had no idea why I had to do another training or why I had to go to India (I had never wanted to go there before), but something was calling me to go. So I threw out all logic and made it happen.
The first week of the training, Anand Mehrotra (the owner of the retreat center we were staying at) came to speak to us. I asked him a question and he looked in my eyes and said "that is for you to discover". I held his gaze with tears streaming down my eyes. In my heart, I knew I had found my teacher and realized why I was called to travel to India. Since that time my commitment to the practice of yoga has grown -- from my own experience and teaching others, I know that the practices of asana, meditation, kriya and pranayama can transform one's life. My vision is to bring these practices to my students, clients and community.
Yoga is a practice of awakening to our light so that we can live a life where we feel connected, empowered, joyful, at peace with ourselves and in service to others. This journey often takes us on twists and turns, sometimes even into dark places, but with support you can learn to navigate the path with strength and compassion.
I believe we are all powerful healers. However, we often get caught up in our busy lives and lose that "knowing". All of my offerings are a way to support you in creating space and practices that will open up space for your to tap into your inner wisdom.
I invite you to take a look around the website. I offer group yoga classes, private yoga sessions, Your OM Time, workshops, trainings and retreats. Each one of these modalities can be very powerful and healing. I can't wait to meet you on the mat!
