If you are interested in the practices of yoga and meditation and how they can transform your life, then you are in the right place! Many people think of yoga as just physical postures, but it is so much more than that! Yoga is a way to step into empowerment, compassion, connection, love and the divine. Through using your body, breath, voice, and silence, all of this is possible. Take a look around the website and CONTACT ME for a private consultation to see which program is right for you. And keep reading for more about how yoga changed my life!
My journey started in my early 20's in the psychology field, I received my doctorate at age 27 and have been practicing as a licensed psychologist since 1998. I always dabbled in yoga, but stayed away mostly because my body wasn't flexible and thus I was drawn to sports such as running and triathlon. But it was at age 27, just as I was graduating with my PsyD, that I found meditation and woke up to life beyond this physical reality! Yes, I woke up to living a spiritual life!
But distractions happened and I let go of meditation and tried to "close my eyes" to the spiritual path. I got married, had kids and was working as a psychologist - but I knew there was something more. In 2009, soon after my divore, I discovered power vinyasa yoga and "tadaaaaa" I awakened once again! It was what I had been searching for and I quickly began teaching, opened a yoga studio in 2012 and yoga took over my life.
On my 46th birthday I went to Bhaktifest to celebrate. I met Kia Miller and found out that she was leading a training in Rishikesh, India. I had no idea why I had to do another training or why I had to go to India (I had never wanted to go there before), but something was calling me to go. So I threw out all logic and made it happen.
The first week of the training, Anand Mehrotra (the owner of the retreat center we were staying at) came to speak to us. I asked him a question and he looked in my eyes to answer tears started streaming down my face. In my heart, I knew I had found my teacher and realized why I was called to travel to India. Since that time my commitment to the practice of yoga has grown -- from my own experience and teaching others, I know that the practices of asana, meditation, kriya and pranayama can transform one's life. My vision is to bring the ancient practices to the modern student.
Yoga is a practice of awakening to our light so that we can live a life where we feel connected, empowered, joyful, at peace with ourselves and in service to others. This journey often takes us on twists and turns, sometimes even into dark places, but with support you can learn to navigate the path with strength and compassion.
I believe we are all powerful healers. However, we often get caught up in our busy lives and lose that "knowing". All of my offerings are a way to support you in creating space and practices that will open up space for your to tap into your inner wisdom.
I invite you to take a look around the website and join me for a class, workshop, check out the Online Programs for free Meditations and Kriya programs, Contact Me to consult about a private session, or if you are ready to "go for it" join in for a retreat or training! I can't wait to meet you!!!! Sending love, c
